Intruduction: | Human methyltransferase-like protein 5 (METTL5) encodes a methyltransferase like protein, which may function as cellular RNA methylation enzyme. Currently, this protein function is unknown. mRNA profiling data indicated that METTL5 only specifically expressed in Fallopian tube epithelium and breast epithelium cells. Full-length human METTL5 cDNA (208aa) was constructed with codon optimization using gene synthesis technology and expressed with a small T7-His-TEV cleavage site Tag (31aa) fusion at its N-terminal. It was expressed in E.coli as inclusion bodies. The final product was refolded using our unique “temperature shift inclusion body refolding” technology and chromatographically purified. |
